Village Reform Democratic Club

Your Home for Greenwich Village Politics and Community
OUR HISTORY

The VRDC was founded in 1983 by community leaders who were disenchanted with the status quo of other local political organizations in New York City.

The Club's founders specifically split from another club when they supported Daniel P. Moynihan against followers of Lyndon LaRouche, and Ed Koch in his gubernatorial campaign against Mario Cuomo. In the world of post-Tammany New York politics, the VRDC's founders strove to promote poliltical transparency, involvement from all community members, and a strictly constructionist approach to the elections and appointments of government officials.

The VRDC has always worked to define itself as open, active, and fair.
VRDC LEADERSHIP
The VRDC is led by a group of officers and an executive committee elected by the membership.
